One couch. One party.
Zero friction.

GameNight is a persistent multiplayer layer that sits above your games. The party stays alive all night โ€” games come and go like tracks on a playlist, and the next one is already warm.

Drag it to Applications and open it. The lobby is right there โ€” and the first game downloads in the background while you're already playing.

The problem

You don't stop after every song to reconfigure your speakers.

So why does every game switch mean browsing a library, re-inviting everyone, remapping controllers, sitting through intros and loading screens? GameNight deletes all of it. The whole evening becomes one continuous multiplayer session.

How it feels

Walk in. Grab a controller. Press A.

๐Ÿ›‹๏ธ

The party is persistent

People, seats and names live above the games. Player 2 stays player 2 all night โ€” across every game. No accounts, no lobbies, no setup.

โœจ

The next game is already warm

While you play, the next game silently loads behind the current one. Skipping a game is as instant as skipping a track.

๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ

Voting is gameplay

Match over? No dialog boxes. Everyone stands their avatar on Replay, Next game or Quit โ€” consensus starts the transition.

โ˜ฐ

One overlay, every screen

Open the party from any game: it pauses for everyone, everywhere. Join, swap controllers, skip, browse โ€” then drop straight back in.

๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ

A shelf, not a file picker

What's-next is cover art: browse the shelf mid-game, tap Play next, and it's warming before the vote even opens.

๐Ÿ“–

An open catalogue

Community-reviewed metadata for couch games โ€” player counts, hardware needs, honest integration levels. Discovery you can trust.

The vote

Match over. Nobody reaches for a mouse.

Avatars stand on options โ€” from a gamepad d-pad, a click, or (soon) a tap on your phone. When everyone agrees, the room transitions.

Under the hood

A daemon, a protocol, and games that just show up.

A small Rust daemon hosts the party and launches games on demand. Games speak a seven-message WebSocket protocol โ€” open by design, with a conformance harness, SDKs for Godot and Rust, and a 60-line no-dependency example. If your favourite couch game isn't integrated yet, it can be โ€” in under an hour.

Character Studio & Game Store

Design your character. Scan QR. Play together.

GameNight includes a built-in Pixel Art Character Designer and Game Store. Players scan the on-screen QR code on their phones, create custom avatars, buy games, and share their libraries in one unified party session.
